Most business owners use either step 1, step 2 or step 3. They pick one and focus on only that. They really work hard, and some of them get marginal results. Most quit after a short time and write off internet marketing as a hoax or a waste of time. Now you know the importance of using all three! By combining all three phases of profitable and effective web marketing, you can start to see serious profits. But there’s even more 🙂
Step 4 is what wraps everything together and takes things into overdrive. It’s called Generating Repeat and Referral Business. Clients hire me to help them create a new lead generation website, or they’ll ask me to tweak their email marketing campaign or help them produce a new offer for them to sell. While these are all really important aspects of marketing, it’s not the END of the story. You can make a lot of money by implementing only steps 1-3, but you’ll still always be chasing money. You’ll still always have to be coming up with new ways to reach more and more people.
After you’ve been in business for a little while and made some sales (for all of you reading this who have already been in business for a year or more…you can begin implementing this principle in your business NOW), it’s a very good idea to put systems into place that generate repeat business and referral business.
This of course means selling to your existing customers and clients. The people who have already purchased from you are your BIGGEST asset. Why? Because they’re already sold. They already like you. They already trust you. They’ve already bridged the gap and given you money, expressing their faith in what you do. There is nothing more valuable to your business than an existing customer, yet I continue to see business owners completely, flat out ignore their existing customer base!
They’ll work hard continuing to find more and more NEW customers while completely ignoring the EASIEST MONEY that’s right at their finger tips. Setting up ways to sell more to your existing customer or client base is one of the most successful business ideas you’ll ever implement.
